Hello jello

December 21st, 2012 by KellyJoe

So I’m being forced to write this post but basically th eonly thing I have to write about is the jello bath that Al recently took. It wasn’t as fun as I had been hoping it would be and its something I would like to try again, or even try a variance on the activity. Basically we made two packets of blue jello and put it in the tub with warm water, sea shells, and ocean themed bath toys. Had he not been a little grump that day I think it would have went over a lot better than it did. Not that it went horrible but he just didn’t have the interest in the jello I was hoping he’d have.

I’m thinking I might like to try a different color other than blue maybe, like red since thats his favorite color. This summer I’m thinking it would be fun to do a little kids pool of jello so we’ll see what happens.

I do now realize as I’m typing that I never put Al’s twelve month picture up. This is partly due to the fact I haven’t gone through the pictures me and Ty took over his birthday weekend but mostly its due to laziness. Basically the whole entirety of it is laziness. But fear not, for I will drop this picture down in.

I do plan on going through those and soon. Its just that I don’t have a whole lot of time on my hands what with being horribly tired and all. ITS ON THE LIST STOP JUDGING ME.

And for those family members who received the glitter hand print globes. I am sorry.I am so sorry. If it brightens your day, the slightly dark not very happy looking picture of my baby is like picture fifty on what had to have been the worst attempt at trying to get a baby to take pictures ever. No lie. Hold your stocking Al, EFF YOU MOM I DO WHAT I WANT. Look at the camera, YOU CAN’T MAKE ME DO ANYTHING. Don’t try and pull the tree over, CHRISTMAS WILL BURN ALONG WITH YOUR DREAMS OF BEING CRAFTY. Thats how it went. So I hope you appreciate those gifts.

Thats like all I have to write about and my computer is running horrifically slow so I’m going to stop now. I do really plan on going through the party pictures and when I do I will get them up. I’m hoping it will be soon. Until then, goodnight.

Pre-birthday Posting

I wanted to pop in here before tomorrow. Its crazy to think that this time last year I was sitting on my couch watching the office and wondering if I was really in labor or not. In fact, as I type this is exactly twenty four hours time Al would have been being pulled from my womb and thats the craziest thing I can really think of right now. So before tomorrow when my baby officially becomes a one year old I’d like to share with a blast from this past year starting with a picture from the very first days of Al being a newborn.

As for month twelve, I’ll be getting that tomorrow. Now I was going to write about the party today but I am literally falling asleep as I write this so I’m going to sign off for tonight but expect more very, very soon.

Sensory Play All Day

December 12th, 2012 by KellyJoe

Hello. So I meant to do this sooner but between the thousands of birthdays this month including Al’s, christmas, my bedroom from hell, the roof from hell, and general illness plus everything in between I just haven’t had the time but I’m here now and thats what matter right. Right? Right.

So we got our tree put up which was kind of difficult. It had a very skinny trunk that we had to wrap a towel around so the stand could even hold it haha. It came out really cute though even for its size.

And in honor of Christmas we did some festive sensory play by making gingerbread man play dough! Which was a lot easier than I had ever expected. Al wasn’t sure what to think of it at first and then became convinced it was food.

And he wasn’t the only one who thought that.

Then when we were killing time while daddy worked on the roof from hell we had an impromptu sensory play that worked on our fine motor skills. We took some uncooked pasta and practiced putting it into a egg carton, first when it was open then when it was closed.

And then we made a new friend and learned love.

Then, unfortunately, we got sick but that also led to some fun sensory play with eucalyptus rice which is basically the best thing ever when you’re feeling all gross. Seriously, me and eucalyptus are seriously having a love affair right now.

Finally in the last of our sensory play, we’ve done a few baths now where we add food coloring in. Its good fun to watch him mix up the colors.

And thats basically a condensed version of what we’ve been up to. Besides making probably the ugliest hand print globes ever made. For serious.

I wasn’t going to put these up cause I plan on passing them out as gifts but how they came out is so funny I thought I’d share them anyway. If anyone says making these with a baby is easy they are either lying or really really drunk cause even getting ones this good was nearly physically impossible. Oh well though, I figure he made them so that makes them special.

I hope to get in the habit with keeping up on this weekly again (HAHAHAHAHAHA) so if I fall behind and you really really want cute baby pictures bug me. Bug the everliving crap out of me.
