Lions, and Tigers, and Bears, and sensory play, oh my.

June 3rd, 2013 by KellyJoe

Well, hello. I know I missed last week and this is a day late but I haven’t been feeling well lately so you’ll have to forgive me and deal with it. We’ve had a more adventurous couple weeks than we have had in a while so that’s been nice. We took him to Cabela’s for the first time and he got to feed the fish. He’s really fascinated by them swimming around in the tanks. I didn’t get a picture of him with them but I did get one of him with a giant moose.

Then we tried out the new splash pad that’s been put in and found that Al was not impressed by it. Not impressed in the slightest bit.

After that we had our first trip to the zoo which was super awesome and fun. He wasn’t impressed by the elephants or the large apes but he really started to warm up to it when we got to watch the seals swim around. They were probably his favorite closely followed by the one wolf we got to see that had pretty similar colors to Ozzy.

Elephants are so evil even their statues will destroy you according to Al.

Ty got a lot more and probably a lot better pictures than I did but I’m a lazy butt who hasn’t bothered to look at his camera yet like I do.

For some sensory play we tried painting with nature materials. Al was a lot more into just painting and wondering why I was trying to get him to use plants with the paint.

Then we tried mixing corn starch and dish soap so make something that’s kind of like play doh. I have to say I like play doh a lot more. This stuff left a weird gross feeling residue on your hands and it didn’t really gather up well. I also didn’t find it as moldable. It does have a cool texture and its definitely different but its not something I feel like I would want to make on a regular basis to play with especially since the feel of it on my hands gave me goosebumps.

It did smell really nice though on a positive note.

Well, that’s all I have to report. I have nothing fun planned for the week currently since I’m still not feeling well but if anyone I know has a suggestion for some fun activities Al and I could do please shoot me a message. I feel like I’m in a slump and need more ideas.

Thanks for reading, see you next week.
