The Outdoors!

March 10th, 2014 by KellyJoe

Hello, everyone. So not a lot this week. Al started his speech therapy officially and had his first real appointment. Al had a good time playing with them and they told me to try swinging him in a blanket to see if that would have a calming effect on him. It didn’t but he loves it anyway and wants to be swung all the time which is unfortunate for me since I am crazy weak still and not exactly cleared on lifting him. The only thing they’re having us do right now is reiterating small words to him so if we’re playing the swinging game I reiterate the words “stop” and “go”. Hopefully it will help him start picking up small words.

With the nice weather we’ve been going outside A LOT. Its mainly all we’ve done and it was AMAZING.

Al was especially excited to be out walking on his own and took that chance to gather a bunch of rocks and junk to bring home with him. I thought why not and decided to make it into a game once we got home since the weather took a turn for the worse anyway. We basically just built different landscapes for his cars and dinosaurs to enjoy.

Finn just worked on his crazy head lifting skills.

Then things just got crazy after naptime.

But it was even crazier today when I thought letting Al play with water beads in the front room was a good idea. I said to him “Let’s keep this mess on the blanket k?” And then we both laughed and laughed and laughed.

So all of those ended up squished into the carpet in case you were wondering.

That’s all I have for this week. Next week is pretty empty of things but hopefully if the weather is good we can get out more and do more nature-y things.
