First Day of Preschool 2015

August 31st, 2015 by KellyJoe

I took the kids to the woods with their packs on but this was the only really good picture that came out of that. It was dark and I kept having to mess with settings so I didn’t end up with a lot of good ones, but mostly just slightly blurry ones.

DSC_7335

Al had his first day of preschool for the year today and while it wasn’t as hard as last year when he started I was still pretty upset, plus he didn’t want us to leave him behind which made it even harder! But he came home and was talking positively about his teacher and his day so that was nice and I hope it gets a little easier on him on Wednesday. Finn felt like he had to take pictures with his brother, obviously he couldn’t be left out!

I can’t believe how old my baby is getting, time isn’t fair! -sobs-

Beads

August 16th, 2015 by KellyJoe

Hey, it’s been a while. Whooooops. We’ve been busy with lots of summer things, and the vacation which I don’t have any more pictures of to share since I put them all up on facebook. BUT! We’re finally getting back into the swing of things and I’m here now to share a bunch of cutie pictures of the boys. I really need to do a photo challenge again. I can feel myself getting rusty and it’s no bueno.

We got back into doing random activities, this time we made bracelets or a better way to say it would be ‘I made bracelets after the kids lost interest in five minutes and wanted to just spill the beads everywhere’. Somewhere around here though the kids have bracelets with their names though and it’s cute when they wear them!

Then I took the boys out in some of their new clothes for school (for Al at least) and got some nice pictures of them before the summer time could end, not that it feels like it’s going to any time soon with all this heat but you know. Might as well get pictures and practice taking pictures of multiple kids who do not want to touch each other or be near each other for more than .001 second.

Now if taking pictures of them wasn’t the MOST FRUSTRATING THING EVER because holy crap do they photograph well. Anyway, more to come as always but as always it might also take a while. See ya.

Geeeeese!

July 12th, 2015 by KellyJoe

Heyyy-o. So I really cannot even think so I’m mostly here to drop a bunch of pictures and run after claiming to have made a real post in my blog. So for those of you who enjoy seeing my kids, this ones for you.

DSC_6195

The kids showcased my rainbow flag I made. They were not as cooperative as I had hoped they would be.

DSC_6216

DSC_6218

And it was stinking hot so by the time we were winding down Al was getting sweaty, as you can see by his hair.

DSC_6231

Al got to spend a few nights in the tent out back, one of his favorite things. Finn wasn’t too cooperative on the sleeping outside thing so he had to stay indoors with me.

DSC_6234

DSC_6238

For the fourth of July we went out fishing at a pond where I got uncomfortably close to a hissing goose. No catches but I thought it was fun, and the kids did too so I guess that’s what matters.

DSC_6245

DSC_6259

And while I’m still feeling all the feels about Finn’s hair getting cut, I have to admit its nice being able to see his face in pictures now even if he does look like an entirely different kid than before. I think he looks more like Al now too.

DSC_6279

DSC_6304

DSC_6306

So there you go. I’ve mostly been taking pictures on my phone lately but I’ve noticed that I haven’t been doing as good with my big camera so I’m planning on doing another photo challenge soon and trying to get out a lot more with it. Also I feel like I’ve been in a bit of a slump again these last couple weeks. I’ve been glutened quite a few times so I think its been the constant up and down of that that’s been getting to me. Hoping I can pull it together for the last few weeks of summer and do more fun things.

Anyway, more to come.

And that’s all we’ve done in basically in three weeks. Cause we’re lazy. But also we’ve been catching snakes and going on walks and things. Just no pictures of it to put up. Whoops. :p

More things to come. Maybe sooner. Maybe not. Who knows. Can’t control this!

Flowers, Hikes, and Snakes

Pick Flowers.

Not something that lasted a long time but it was cute and the flowers down at the duck park are the cutest.

Paint a flower pot, which since I didn’t have the right paint its already washed off. Oh well though, they had a lot of fun doing it anyway.

Go on a hike. I’m not overly fond of that picture, but it was still a fun hike. We just did up to bridal veil falls so Finn could walk too.

DSC_6069

DSC_6079

Al being smug as butts with the snake that he caught. He’s pretty impressed with himself for catching it, and honestly its pretty impressive.

DSC_6081

DSC_6088

Other than that, not much is going on. I got glutened over the weekend and I’m starting to think that my allergies are getting worse since it was much worse than usual. I should probably see a doctor. But I don’t want to. Adulthood harrumph. Al’s out of school for the summer so I need to find something to keep us busy during the day since we are watching way too much tv lately. Ya know ya know.

I need to do another photo challenge. I’m getting lazy again and it blows. Anyway, I got crocheting to do. Outs.

Graffiti and Junk

DSC_5915

You can’t really read the paper but the adventure was to make pom poms. We made them out of tulle and it was a lot of fun except at the end when everyone got grouchy and nobody wanted to do pictures unless candy was also involved, which is what’s going on with Finn’s face. Regardless of that I still at least got one picture where the kids look somewhat happy.

DSC_5917

The next adventure after that was shaving cream play which was the best play. Both kids were super into it and it kept them busy and happy for a long time, though Finn did learn the hard way that he couldn’t rub his face or eyes. DSC_5928

DSC_5937

Look at that expression of pure joy!

DSC_5938

I just really liked these mushrooms. They were neat and Al agreed.

Enough to pick one.

And then we found some cool graffiti.

And that’s all for the last week (two weeks?). I almost need to start doing photo challenges again because I’m definitely not doing as much stuff as I was before but at the same time I feel like it’s freed up some time and stress for me and I always feel like I’m scrabbling to get projects I’m already working on done and get enough time in with the kids during the day. I just feel like I’m always busy and sometimes it’s nice but sometimes it kind of sucks. I just want to do all the things and have enough time to do them in ok thanks and also some money would be nice too.

I think I’m just getting bitter because it’s almost my birthday and I don’t like it. I’m on the downhill slope now. Pretty soon I’ll be funeral home shopping.

April Is Almost Over and What is Happening

April 27th, 2015 by KellyJoe

Monday again. Another day, another cup(s) of coffee.

Adventure 2: Do a Ball Pit

I tried to get Al to hold the paper up but he was way too excited about all the balls. This is the best I could get in the low lighting and constant movement.

Adventure2

Adventure 3: Go to the library

I wish Al’s face was in focus in this but I still love this picture. They had a lot of fun at the library and really it’s a trip we need to make WAY more often. I just have a real struggle with getting books back on time, it’s a really bad habit of mine.

Adventure3

Adventure 4: Bake cookies

Once again, the low lighting and constant movement is a challenge. I like all the colors of the m&m’s though.

Adventure4

Those are the only adventures we’ve done this last week (or has it been a couple weeks now, I don’t even remember). We did go on a hike though and do some geocaching. Al got a pretty sweet dragonfly ring from one of the caches and I got two kids who napped hard, it’s a win!

Other than that, I’m unsure what to talk about. We still haven’t been doing any real sensory play things, and I desperately need to make a trip to the dollar store. Right now I feel like I’m still scrabbling to get everything done always and I’ve started a lot of projects around the house. It’s kind of fallen into a thing where I need to decide on a daily basis what is the most important thing for me to do but that’s a struggle for me cause I want to do it all. And I’m whiny tired all the time. But I digress.

This week, this week will be my week. More pictures to come.

Huge Pic Dump

16.SomethingGreen

Hello, it’s been a while. I had some computer issues happening so I haven’t been able to get into some of my pictures. That seems resolved now. I haven’t been doing a photo challenge for April though because of it, so these ones are all from March.

I just took pictures of a bunch of blossoms. They were super ridiculous pretty for a while there.

So in lieu of doing a photo challenge for a while I’m doing Spring/summer adventures with the kids. The first one was planting seeds together. Of course, the day after it snowed so who knows if they’ll sprout.

Adventure1

And I’ve resolved to hike more. This is a kind of cool shot I took while out doing that.

DSC_5674

Plus a shot of both kids from Easter day. They’re not good at both making a nice face.

DSC_5816

Well, there’s more that will happen and soon and more pictures to come as always. And maybe I’ll stay caught up better. Who knows. Stranger things have happened.

So that’s what I was all behind on. Things have been a little crazy adjusting to the new time. I started a job today and that’s been weird. I’m kind of bummed right now because I get paid based on job so I only made around 8 bucks today for two hours worth of work. It’ll get better as I get faster at the job but its feeling a little discouraging to put that much time in for that little pay off, but then again it’s still better than nothing and it’s still something I can put on my resume later.

Al’s doing really good at school. He was excited to get up and ride the bus today. His talking is going crazy, and he’s doing much better at communicating. He’s even learned his name in this last week. Though if I say something like ‘what baby?’ he replies with ‘I AL!’ so don’t be messing that up or he’ll tell you off for it.

Finn’s doing good. He’s been trying to walk everywhere he goes rather than crawl so that’s been a change. He’s getting to be pretty demanding though so that can be wearing. I’m pretty ready for that to be a phase that is over.

And that’s basically it. We did do some sensory play but I never got the pictures put up so I’m going to save that for the next blog. I’m pretty burned out from that work this afternoon and just running around all day.

So until next time.
